Healthy Moong Dal Pakodas
Ingredients:
- Batter:
- 100 gms Yellow Moong Dal soaked overnight and leached
- ½ inch Ginger
- Green Chilli
- Water
- ¼ tsp Turmeric Powder
- Salt – Pinch of salt
- Stuffing:
- 50 gms Paneer grated or crushed
- 20 gms Capsicum fine chopped
- 20 gms Tomatoes fine chopped
- 20 gms Onion fine chopped
- 1 tsp Chilli Flakes
- Portion size: 5

- Note: The potassium content in this recipe will be reduced by leaching the moong dal appropriately
Procedure:
- Batter:
- In a grinder add the leached moong dal, ginger, green chilli, water and grind to make a thick paste.
- Now transfer the mixture into a bowl add turmeric powder, salt and whip for 4-5 minutes.
- Stuffing:
- In a bowl add paneer, capsicum, onion, tomatoes, coriander leaves, chilli flakes.
- Now make small balls of the stuffing.
- YOU CAN USE PANEER CUBES/BOILED POTATO/TOFU/BRINJAL/ONION PIECES INSTEAD OF CHOPPED VEGETABLES
- For Pakoda:
- Grease an appe pan with oil, sprinkle some mustard seeds and curry leaves.
- Next add dal batter and fill only half of each compartment.
- Place the stuffing/piece of vegetable in the centre and cover with batter again.
- Cover and cook for 3-4 minutes or till crisp from the bottom.
- After 2 minutes add little oil on the sides and cover it again let it cook.
- Flip them after some time and repeat the same again.
- Your yummy crispy pakodas are ready in a healthier version.
