Dialysis Olympiad

The first and only Olympics style games event where dialysis guests compete in various disciplines and win medals.

The NephroPlus Dialysis Olympiad is a one of its kind
event hosted exclusively for dialysis guests. Guests
from all over the country are invited for a one-day
event to a city where they participate in events like
Walkathon, Cycling, Basketball, Table Tennis,
Badminton, Chess, Carroms, etc. Gold, Silver and
Bronze medals are awarded for each event and it
usually ends with a music competition

We, at NephroPlus, firmly believe that every person on dialysis can and should lead a normal life. A normal life also includes the ability to undertake some physical activity, even a sport. The Dialysis Olympiad reinforces the belief that Dialysis guests can take on physical-endurance activities and excel and compete in them. It also brings back their “Will to Win”, something many guests lose after the brutal diagnosis with Kidney Failure.

Aashayein

Aashayein is our flagship annual event exclusively for dialysis guests. It is a one-day free, educational-cum-fun event.

Aashayein

The word Aashayein means hope and we believe that it is a very powerful word. It represents light at the end of the tunnel. It represents joy in the middle of despair. It represents the thought that the current misery will end one day. The life of a dialysis guest is often quite frustrating. Having to trudge along to the dialysis clinic multiple times a week for a life-sustaining treatment with no hope for success, becomes an everyday affair and a kidney transplant is often out of reach for many.

At Aashayein, guests get to interact with Nephrologists, Urologists, Transplant Surgeons, Vascular Surgeons, Clinical Nutritionists, etc. on topics around kidney disease.

They also get to meet other guests and share notes on coping with kidney disease. There are also a lot of fun games and a whole bunch of free gifts! The best part of the day is usually an elaborate lunch that is prepared in accordance with the dialysis-friendly diet.

Guests are given a bunch of goodies as well with things that are useful for them like pill boxes, bags they can carry to the dialysis units, etc. This one day of uninterrupted entertainment for dialysis guests comes as a refreshing change from an often routine life on dialysis. guests get to let their hair down, have fun and learn in the process.
