Professor Vivekanand Jha [MBBS, MD, DM, PhD, FRCP, FRCP (Edin) FAMS], is the Executive Director, George Institute for Global Health India, and a Professor of Nephrology at University of Oxford. He is the President of the Asia Pacific Society of Nephrology. He has been a Professor of Nephrology and Head of the Department of Translational Regenerative Medicine at the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research in Chandigarh. Prof. Jha graduated from Patna Medical College, did his postgraduate training in Medicine and Nephrology from the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGI), Chandigarh, India and a basic science research Fellowship at the Harvard University and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Boston.
He is setting up a India-wide cohort of patients with kidney diseases to characterize the clinical and laboratory features that would identify those at high risk so that prevention steps can be targeted and new intervention strategies tested in high risk persons. He is setting up a country-wide network of nephrologists to design and implement clinical studies for finding solutions to the ever increasing burden of kidney disease in India.
He is former Secretary of the Indian Society of Nephrology and a member of various other Societies, Task Forces and Committes at the national and international level. He has over 220 publications in peer-reviewed journals and 30 chapters in major textbooks. Dr Jha has been elected a Fellow of the Royal college of Physicians (London), Royal college of Physicians (Edinburgh) and the National Academy of Medical Sciences (India).

Dr. Umesh B Khanna is a Consultant Nephrologist & Transplant Physician based in Mumbai. He is the Medical Director of NephroPlus, Boriwali West, Mumbai and also practicing at Lancelot Kidney & GI Centre in Borivali West.
Dr. Khanna did his undergraduate and postgraduate medical education at Seth G S Medical College and KEM Hospital in Mumbai.
Dr. Khanna has been in private practice since May 1987. He has vast experience in Clinical Nephrology, Haemodialysis, Continuous Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis (CAPD), Kidney Transplants, Critical Care Medicine, CAVH, CAVHD & IPD, and Hypertension.
Dr. Khanna has set up the Nephrology Department for several hospitals and clinics. He was the first to establish the concept of free-standing dialysis units or satellite / community dialysis centres in India, and has set up 16 such units in Mumbai. He was also the first to come up with the concept of Nephrologist-owned-and-managed private dialysis units in Mumbai.
As Chairman of the Public Education Cell of the National Kidney Foundation (India), he arranged a series of educational talks, interactive sessions and panel discussions on kidney diseases and organ donation. Dr. Khanna is Founder and Chairman of Mumbai Kidney Foundation (MKF), a project of Jeevan Jyot Charitable Trust, of which he is a trustee. MKF endeavours to brighten the lives of chronic kidney disease patients. Launched on the occasion of the first World Kidney Day (9th March 2006), MKF works towards education, prevention and treatment of kidney disease and rehabilitation of kidney patients.
Dr. Avinash Ignatius (M.B.B.S., M.D., D.M.), is a Senior Consultant Nephrologist and Transplant Physician from Pune, Maharashtra. He established and now Heads the Department Of Nephrology at Noble Hospital and also consults at Ruby Hall Clinic, Wanowarie.
He graduated (MBBS) from Govt Medical College, Bellary in 2001, completed his M.D. in Internal Medicine from St. John’s Medical College Bengaluru in 2004. He continued as Lecturer in Nephrology at St. John’s Medical College and subsequently trained as a senior resident at SGPGIMS, Lucknow. He completed his D.M. in Nephrology from AIIMS, New Delhi.
He has been a Consultant Nephrologist at Fortis Hospital Vasant Kunj, New Delhi, Fortis Escorts Heart Institute and Holy Family Hospital New Delhi, before establishing the Dept of Nephrology at Noble Hospital at Pune in 2012.
He is experienced in treating critically ill patients with acute and chronic renal failure, patients with combined cardiac and renal problems, patients on dialysis and managing pre and post renal transplants. Experienced in permanent/tunneled dialysis catheter insertion as well as real-time ultrasound guided renal biopsies. He also takes keen interest in patient education on CKD and prevention of kidney disease.
He is a Principle Investigator in a number of national and interntional multi centric clinical research trials.
He has been awarded with PUNE HEALTHCARE LEADERSHIP AWARD 2018 and ICONS of HEALTH, PUNE 2018 by the Times of India Group.
