    FAQs

    Q. Is it Mandatory to get a COVID test done before enrolling for this program?
    A. No, it is not mandatory. However, it is better to get tested if you have any symptoms such as fever, cough, fatigue, headache etc, or you have travelled recently across cities/states, also if you came in contact with any COVID positive person.

    Q. Is it mandatory to get RTPCR only for enrolment into this program?
    A. No, it is not mandatory. For identifying the presence of Corona virus in the body, you can get either antigen or RTPCR test. Though RTPCR is considered more authentic because of its current accuracy rate.

    How valid is antigen test?
    A. Antigen test is a rapid test and the current accuracy is low in comparison to the RTPCR test.

    Q. How long will my symptoms last?
    A. After coming in contact with the virus, the symptoms can start appearing from the second day and last for fourteen days or more depending on the severity of the condition.

    Q. How do I know I have COVID?
    A. If you have travelled recently, came in contact of any positive patient, or are showing any symptoms such as fever, cough, fatigue, headache, etc, you can get a COVID test done to identify the presence of the Corona virus in the body.

    Q. When do I need care?
    A. If you suspect any possibility of getting COVID, travelled between cities/states or start showing symptoms, you should take extreme care of yourself and do self-quarantine at home. Those who are above 60 years of age and at high risk, you also need to monitor yourself and take primary home care.

    Q. Do I need to be hospitalized as soon as I show symptoms or tested positive?
    A. No, only patient with severe symptoms should seek for critical care. Anyone whose SPO2 level is below 90% or if suggested by the consulting doctor should only be hospitalized.

    Q. Can I get a bed/oxygen cylinder/ medication at home in this program?
    A. This program is just for consultation and advice purpose. We do not promise to provide anything at home.

    Q. Can I get a doctor/nurse to visit me home under this program?
    A. No, this program is entirely remote and we cannot provide any care at home.

    Q. I have flu, but I am tested negative, should I still take COVID medicines?
    A. You should speak to a doctor for proper medication guidance in this case. Keep monitoring your symptoms. And if suggested by the doctor, go for a retest in few days.

    Q. I am diabetic and have BP issues, am I more likely to get affected by COVID?
    A. If you are above 60 years of age and have any chronic heart or lung disease, diabetes or hypertension you should take all the preventive care methods, avoid public places, stock up your medicines and keep a close watch on symptoms. It is recommended to be under a doctor supervision and track for vitals and symptoms.

    Q. How can NephroPlus/CarePlus help me?
    A. For mild to moderate cases, we provide home care program, where the person can get doctors consultation, vitals monitored, diet consultation and mental health and well-being support and care while they are safely home quarantined. Our program can help you identify early signs of severity to seek a hospital admission in advance.

    Q. What diet should I follow to prevent COVID?
    A. A healthy diet recommended by a professional dietician can be helpful.

    Q. Is COVID likely to affect my mental health and wellbeing?
