
Delicious home made fresh fruit syrup with no added preservatives.
Portion size: 170 ml (4 servings)
Serving size: 2 tablespoons
Ingredients:
- Strawberries 200gms
- Sugar ½ cup (100gms)
- Water ½ cup
Preparation:
- Wash and chop the strawberries
- Put all the ingredients in a thick bottomed vessel
- Cook for approximately 10-15 minutes on a medium heat
- Set a mesh sieve over a mixing bowl, strain the syrup over the sieve
- Discard the berries or keep it aside for later use
- Pour the syrup back into the vessel
- Bring back it to boil on low flame for about 10-15 minutes or until the syrup slightly thickens
- Remove the vessel from the heat and store it in a glass container
- Strawberry syrup can be stored up to 2 weeks in a refrigerator
