A kidney friendly, lactose free hot drink, to sip on to and enjoy at any time of the day. Suitable for: CKD, Dialysis, Diabetic (with sugar substitute) Yield 2 cups, Serving size 1 cup (120 ml)  Ingredients: Cocoa Powder 2 tbsp Sugar 2 tbsp Almond Milk, unsweetened, plain 1 cup (240 ml) Vanilla essence ¼ tsp Salt, a pinch (0.4 g) Water 2 tbsp.   Procedure: In a microwave friendly bowl, mix cocoa powder, wet the mixture with 2 tbsp. of water and microwave for 15 sec, until steaming, and stir until very smooth. Add ¼ th cup of milk, salt, vanilla essence to the mixture and microwave for 30 sec. Stir until the mixture is completely mixed. Add the left over portion of milk and microwave it for more 15 sec.   Note: If you are not using a microwave. Almond milk can be double boiled. Procedure: Add water to the bottom pan of the double boiler and place the other pan on top. Pour your almond milk into the top pan. Heat the milk gradually on low to medium flame; the almond milk will be done when it is slightly steaming and hot to touch. Boiling it too much can make almond milk taste bitter.
