A warm, spicy and comforting drink. A cup of it, before bedtime can also be effective way to fight against cold and cough.

Ingredients:

Milk 1 cup

Turmeric, grounded ¼ tsp

Pepper, grounded pinch

Coconut Oil ½ tsp

Honey 1 tsp (Or any sugar substitute if diabetic)

 

Procedure: 

In a sauce pan mix milk, turmeric, pepper and stir it with a whisk. Mix well.

On a medium flame steam the mixture until it starts to simmer. Do not boil.

Stir the mixture occasionally for 10 min

Remove from heat and add honey and coconut oil(optional). Stir well.

You can also use a frother to froth the tea, if desired. Pour into a mug and spoon the froth over the top. Serve hot.

Note:

The piperine in pepper and coconut oil (fat medium) helps increases the absorption of curcumin (the active compound in turmeric).
