Portion Size: 4 in no
Broken Wheat Dalia- 1 cup
Cumin Seeds- 1/2 tsp.
Ginger, chopped -1/2 inch
Garlic, chopped – 1 clove
Onion, chopped - 1 medium size
Tomato, chopped – 1 medium
Bottle Gourd, diced -1 cup
Red chilli, dry- 2 in no
Salt-A dash (0.4gm) As suggested by the dietitian.
Dry roast daliya on a medium flame for 2 to 3 minutes. Keep aside.
Heat the oil in a pressure cooker, add the cumin seeds & asafetida and sauté on a medium flame for 30 seconds.
Add ginger, garlic and onions. Sauté on a medium flame for 1 minute.
Now, add tomatoes and bottle gourd, mix well & cook on a medium flame for 1 to 2 minutes, while stirring continuously.
Add daliya, red chili, turmeric powder, salt and 4 cups of water, mix it properly & pressure cook for 3 whistles on low flame.
Allow the steam to escape before opening the lid.
Serve with cucumber raita
